Maddie is one of Wonderland's popular folks. She was very caring, kind and she runs a small Restobar that she inherited from her parents. Despite her soft personality she knows how to fight and sometimes hunts for food to keep her business running. She was one of the loyal followers of the White Queen too. The White Queen would sometimes visit the town and sometimes, even dine in her resto. 

Everything was fine and perfect until they heard about the commotion in the Palace and later, the death of the White Queen. She was devastated as she greatly looked up to the Queen. 

When things slowly became different (in a bad way) she started resisting the orders of the new queen but she was not alone. She was rebelling along with six other Wonderland folks. Things then went out of hand and they formed an alliance with a goal to bring back the peace of Wonderland but they had a major problem, they needed more manpower for this plan. It was then the Caterpillar told them about his and the White Queen's plan and the power which the White queen gave them. They went to a certain place in the woods where they performed the summoning of the Alice's. 

Maddie was the last one to summon her own Alice and it was a man named Xerxes. She learned stuff about him. It turns out that he had special abilities as he was a descendant of a Jabberwock, a legendary creature of Wonderland which was already dead years ago. He had the ability to turn into a dragon and showed it to Maddie as proof. Maddie panicked and made him turn himself back into a person, scared that someone might see him and they went back to town.
But they did not know that when Xerxes transformed, the Queen's Knave had spotted them and went back to the Palace to report to the Queen.

A few days after that, Maddie went to the forest to hunt and there she encountered some of the Red Queen's knights. She tried to fight them but she was outnumbered and was taken to the castle. While being dragged back to the castle she loudly claimed that they will never find Xerxes. The Mad hatter happened to see and hear that but she was already too late to help her friend so instead, she quickly went back to town and warned them about what happened to Maddie. The Mad Hatter, Eli,  also told Xerxes about what happened to Maddie and told him to hide because the hatter knows it is exactly what Maddie wants.

While inside the castle, Maddie was locked in the cells and was tortured everyday because they thought that she might tell them where to find Xerxes (but even if she would, which she wouldn't, she does not know where Xerxes hid himself).
It was that time too when Maddie was suddenly approached by the Queen's knave. He secretly gave her food and water. At first, she declined thinking that it was a trick for her to give in but then the knave showed his sincerity so she went and accepted the kind gesture. They began to know about each other but the information was very limited and she learned that his name was Jack. He also told her that he felt sorry for her so he decided to approach her. Maddie felt Jack's kindness and it made her happy despite her condition.

The next few days the punishments were becoming more and more harsher and severe, she gained scars and the pain was so unbearable that it was slowly destroying her sanity. She became wild and began fighting back so they thought about killing her since they thought she was a lost cause.

Before her execution, Xerxes appeared before them. He came to the Palace in his dragon form  and when he saw his master, he was filled with anger and pain because even with the short time he had spent with Maddie, he felt that he was accepted and he was genuinely happy unlike before they had met.

He tried to help Maddie but he could not attack them because they have his master and any wrong move would kill her. The Red Queen then began to bargain with Xerxes that if he joins them, she will be set free. Maddie then regains her normal self and tells him that he should go and leave her but Xerxes could not do it because he wants Maddie to live. He then made the decision to join the Red Queen. Maddie was set free, weak and injured. She was in pain physically, emotionally and mentally. 
She then vowed to herself that she would make herself stronger to avenge Xerxes and help defeat the Red Queen to bring back the old Wonderland. She wishes that someday, she would be reunited with Xerxes and take him back.
